American Bancor, Ltd. is committed to protecting the privacy and security of the information, which our customers share with us. For that reason, we will handle the customers’ information carefully and sensibly. This organization has never shared the customers’ non-public, personal information except as permitted by law and we will continue to protect our customers’ privacy. This policy is standard for American Bancor, Ltd., and our affiliated companies, American Bank Center, American Bank Center First, American Insurance Center, American Ag Center, American Trust Center, and Scandia American Bank & Trust.
Information collected
This organization collects non-public information about our customers from the following sources.
- Information received from applications and other forms.
- Information from transactions with our affiliates, others, or us.
- Information we receive from a consumer reporting agency.
- Information provided to us, or that we collect about our customer in order to underwrite, issue, and service insurance policies.
This information is used to maintain accurate balance information, to help us provide efficient customer service and to assist in identifying other accounts or services that may be of value to our customers.
Information We Share
This organization does not disclose any non-public personal information about our customers or former customers to non-affiliated third parties, except as permitted by law.
In order to provide the best service to our customers, each entity will be allowed to share non-public experienced based information with affiliates. Experienced based information includes transaction or experience information such as accounts the customer maintains with the entity, account history, and transaction history. This information will not be used for marketing purposes if the customer has exercised their right to opt out. Each entity will be responsible for maintaining appropriate documentation for those customers that have chosen to opt out of sharing for marketing purposes. We will not disclose non-experienced based information obtained in credit reports or applications made by the customer.
We may disclose the information described above to companies who provide services necessary for us to maintain accounts, process transactions, to provide our customers access to products and services, or to companies who perform business functions or services on our behalf, or to financial institutions with which we have joint marketing agreements.
Security Standards
We will continually update and improve our security standards to help protect against anyone gaining unauthorized access to our confidential information, including access through the Internet. We will maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards that comply with federal standards to guard the customer’s information. We also restrict access to non-public personal information about our customers to those employees who need to know that information to provide products or services to them.
